Bohol,  Philippines, is the 10th largest island in the Philippines with 70 minor island surroundings it. It is located in the Central Visayas Region and has a total land area of 4,821 Km2 and its coastline area is 261 km.

The Bohol province is a 1st class province of the Philippines. Bohol is the home province of the 8th President of the Philippines, Carlos P. Garcia who hailed from Tubigon Bohol.

Bohol Island is surrounded by the provinces of Leyte, Cebu an Siquijor.

As of year 2010 Census , Bohol’s population  is 1,255,128.

Bohol Province is a tourist destination due to its popular fine white sand beaches , resort , beautiful and scenic natural  sights, old churches  and historical sites.

Panglao

Panglao is a 4th class municipality in the Province of Bohol, and just a 92 kilometers from Tagbilaran City northern coast.This town is popular due to its fine white sandy Beach, Diving Places and awesome resorts.

Dauis

Dauis,  is a 4th class and one of the oldest municipality in the Province of Bohol, and just a 3 kilometers from Tagbilaran City. Dauis is located in the entry Panglao Island on the side facing Tagbilaran city. Dauis land area is 4,288 hectares

This town is popular due to its historic Church, our Lady of Assumption Church  and the Hinagdanan Cave, and its white fine sand beach. This attracts tourist making Dauis  a a must visit place in Bohol.

Tagbilaran City

The capital of Bohol is the Tagbilaran City, the only city in the province of Bohol known as the City of Peace and Friendship. This has an area of 3,270 hectares including the 13 kilometres coastline. Tagbilaran is consider as the commercial hub in Bohol.

It is the main getaway to the island province of Bohol. Tagbilaran City has its own airport as well as Seaport. It’s airport caters to Philippines Airlines, Cebu Pacific Air and the Asian Spirit. It has a daily flight from Manila. Its seaport accommodates passenger and commercial vessels from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

Tagbilaran City has also Dao Integrated Terminal that has assorted routes to different parts of Bohol. Vans and Public Buses  with assorted routes to different parts of Bohol are available here.

Loon

Loon Bohol is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Bohol and lies between Tagbilaran  City and the Municipality of Tubigon.  Loon  is just about 27 kilometers from Tagbilaran City.

Loon,  is one of the entry point of Bohol. It has a seaport that caters the RORO vessels that ply from Argao Cebu to Loon Bohol, and 6 fishing ports.

Tubigon

Tubigon Bohol is a 1st class municipality in the Province of Bohol, and just a 51 kilometers from Tagbilaran City. It is a costal town with 14 kilometers coastline. Tubigon  is known for its crab “lambay” products.

 Tubigon is one of the entry point of Bohol Province having its own seaport. Tubigon seaport is considered the second largest and busiest seaport in the province of Bohol, due to its numerous boat schedules everyday.

Getafe

Getafe Bohol is a 4th class municipality in the Province of Bohol, and just a 92 kilometers from Tagbilaran City northern coast. The town land area is 9,880 hectares including the Island barangays. This town is popular due to its mangrove forest which is the biggest in the country as well as the seahorse trading.

Getafe is one of the entry point of Bohol Province having its own seaport. Getafe is nearest to Cebu that’s why many boats are sailing from Cebu to Jetafe port. In a good weather Cebu City is visible in the coastal part of Getape.

Talibon

Talibon,   is a 1st class municipality in the Province of Bohol, and just a 115 kilometers from Tagbilaran City via north road. The town land area is 17,704 hectares.

This town is popular since this is the birthplace of the 8th  President of the Philippines, Carlos P. Garcia. Today it become a historic site,  the Carlos P. Garcia Monument and Park.

Talibon is one of the entry point of Bohol Province having its own seaport.

Ubay

Ubay Bohol is a 1st  class municipality in the Province of Bohol, and just a 123 kilometres from Tagbilaran City via northern coast. This is the largest municipality with  land area is 292.05 hectares  including 61 kilo meters of coastline. This municipality has the most population in Bohol.

Ubay is one of the entry point of Bohol Province having its own seaport. Ubay Port is the gateaway to Leyte Province. Ubay port cater travelers that will go to Manila by Land. They have to cross to Leyte so that they can start traveling by land to Manila

This town is popular since this is the origin of the Ube Calamay and Fried Ube Bread delicacy. Ube calamay is a purple rice cake with  Ube or purple yam. Ubay, town has the large plantations of Ube.

Anda

Anda is a 5th class municipality in the Province of Bohol, a seaside town and just a 100 kilometers from Tagbilaran City east coast. The town land area is 6,286 hectares.

This town is popular due to its fine white sand beach that can be comparable to Boracay beach .Its maybe shorter than the Boracay Beach but then its sand is pure white and warm crystal clear water. It is the home for the Quinali Beach, Talisay Beach, Bugnaw Beach and the Bituon Beach.

Quinali Beach one of the of best beaches in Bohol can be found in Anda, Bohol. It is a 3 kilometer of fine white sand with a warm crystal water with an awesome view of the sunrise.

Aside from its beaches, Anda also has cave pools as their tourist spots.

Jagna

Jagna is a 3rd  class municipality in the Province of Bohol, and just a 63.1  kilometers from Tagbilaran City. The town land area is 12,063 hectares .

Jagna is one of the entry point of Bohol Province having its own seaport. Daily travel of Ferries to other Island is available. Consider as the gateaway,  for Mindanao travel as it  cater the passengers traveling to and from Cagayan De Oro and Nasipit .

This town is popular due to Calamay delicacy production, and often called Calamay Country.

Carmen

Carmen is a 3rd  class municipality in the Province of Bohol, and just a 58 kilometers from Tagbilaran City, the Capital of Bohol. It is located in the middle part of Bohol. The town land area is 29,804 hectares.

This town is popular since this is the Home for the Famous Chocolate Hills,  one of the  Wonder of the World.  It is the most visited place in Bohol, as the starting point of the tours to Chocolate Hills.

Carmen is consider as a rural town, and you can view a vast rice fields, vegetables plantation, coconut and bananas as well as other plants. The main livelihood in this town is farming.

Baclayon

Baclayon is the first municipality established  in the Province of Bohol. It is a 5th class municipality and located east  from Tagbilaran City, just a 6 kilometer from it with a 10 minutes ride. The town land area is 3,365 hectares .

This town is popular due to its historic Catholic Church, the Baclayon Church and the Pamilacan Island white fine sand beach. This two attracts tourist making Baclayon a tourist destination in Bohol.
