Osmeña Peak is situated technically within the municipality of Badian and also considered as part of Mantalongon Dalaguete.
It is part of the Mantalongon mountain range, which has several jagged hills and is mostly formed out of the rocks The said jagged hills are grouped together near each other.
These grouped jagged Hill (Peaks) overlooked and stretch as far as the Badian shorelines and the Badian Island, the beaches of Moalboal: Panagsama white sand shorelines, and the Tanton Straighton its northwest, while its southwest view is the vegetable farms of the Mantalongon. Sometimes on a clear day, the Island of Negros is visible.
The jagged hills in Mantalongon mountain range is similarly formed like the Bohol’s Chocolate hills. The difference is that, these hills are thinner and has sharper pointed peaks and are made of rocks.
The highest peak of this rock formed hills (Peak) is known as Osmeña Peak, named after the most famous clan of Cebu the Osmeña’s. This peak is more or less 1,000 meters above the sea level and was considered as the highest peak in Cebu province.

Osmeña Peak is consider as the highest mountain in Cebu. It gives you a stunning view of Cebu Island. The formation of rocks and the green scenery of the farms stretching to hundreds of kilo meter will remind you of the view of famous Bohol’s Chocolate Hills
How to get to Osmeña Peak
Osmeña Peak can be reached by Private car as well as public buses. Take a public bus from the South Bus Terminal in Cebu City. Take the bus going Bato via Oslob. Heads up the driver or conductor that you will be up to Dalaguete Junction only. Travel time from Cebu Bus Terminal to Dalaguete take at least 3 hours depending on the traffic encounter, and estimated fare from Cebu to Dalaguete is P 170.00
Once out in the bus, locate the habal habal driver with Mantalongon signage. Habal habal ride from Dalaguete Junction to Osmena Peak travel time is only 30 minutes and fare for one way ride is P 200.00
Since Osmeña Peak is accessible through Mantalongon is often thought its part of Mantalongon Dalaguete but technically Osmena Peak is inside the municipality of Badian.

What to bring to Osmeña Peak
Since you are on a trekking adventure, you should travel only with most essential things on that day. Avoid bringing heavy luggage on the trek so that you will be traveling with ease.
Leave the non essential things on the jump off point.
Clothing should match with the weather on that day. Be sure you are wearing the comfortable attire for your journey. Wearing pants and long sleeves is advisable to protect your skin from insects bites along the way. Also you should wear the most comfortable walking shoes.

2. Snacks – includes fruits
3. Sunscreen – for your skin protection
4. Swimsuit if visiting waterfalls are included in you itinerary
At the Jump off point, you need to register your name and pay the entrance pay . Just a small amount and this serves as a donation to Mantalongon residents. You can also leave your excess belonging here while you go on trekking.
