Philippine Holidays for 2022
As a traveller, it is always our agenda every start of the year to check the holidays schedules for us to start planning.
In the Philippines, holiday is grouped into 2 categories. Regular and the Special Holiday. The Regular Holiday has a fixed date while the Special Holidays are flexible. Special Holidays also divided into two groups the Non-Working Special Holiday and the Working Special Holiday.
For the year 2022 the Philippines have 10 regular holidays and 6 special non-working holidays.

- August 29, 2022 – Monday (National Heroes’ Day)
- November 30, 2022 – Wednesday (Bonifacio Day)
- December 25, 2022 – Sunday (Christmas Day)
- December 30, 2022 – Friday (Rizal Day)
Special Holidays.
- February 1, 2022 – Tuesday (Chinese New Year)
- February 25, 2022 – Friday (EDSA People Power Revolution Anniversary)
- April 16, 2022 – Saturday (Black Saturday)
- August 21, 2022 – Sunday (Ninoy Aquino Day)
- November 1, 2022 – Tuesday (All Saints’ Day)
- December 8, 2022 – Thursday (Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary)

Additional special non-working holiday intended for The Eid’l Fitr (the end of Ramadan) and the Eid’al Adha (the feast of sacrifice) which exact date will be determined according to Islamic Calendar and will be known later to the public.
To better manage our travel plans, aside from knowing the holiday’s schedules, we should also check those holidays that fall on weekend so that we can enjoy the long weekend.
For the year 2022 the Philippines only have 4 long weekends.
- EDSA People Power – Feb. 25 to Feb. 27 (three days: Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
- Holy Week Weekend – April 14 to 17 (four days: Thursday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
- National Heroes’ Day Weekend – August 28 to 30 (three days: Saturday, Sunday, & Monday )
- Rizal Day – Dec. 30 to Jan. 2 (three days: Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
