Camotes Island
Is situated southwest of Leyte Island, north of Bohol Island and East of Cebu island. It is a part of Cebu. This island is sometimes known as the Lost Horizon of the south and is famous for its white sand beaches and natural caves and natural attractions like lakes and falls that will connect us to the beauty of nature. There is also a score of dive sites around the islands.
Camotes Island is composed of Island namely:
- Pacijan Island has only the municipality of San Francisco, which is located east of Cebu.
- Poro Island has the municipalities of Poro and Tudela and is located
- Ponson Island has Pilar as its sole municipality and is located North of Bohol.
- Tulang an island Barangay of San Francisco, which is located Southwest of Leyte.
The main islands of Pacijan and Poro are connected by a 1.5-kilometer-long (0.93-mile) causeway. Ponson lies about four kilometer (2.5 mi) northeast of Poro, across the Kawit Strait. Tulang is located a short distance north of Pacijan

Camotes Island is just a couple of hours away from Cebu City. It is home to some of the Philippines best beaches and one of the world’s most undiscovered paradises.
Also in the Camotes Islands you can find tourist spots, like Greenlake Park, Mt. Calvary (Kalbaryo), mangrove swamp caves along the road sides from Pacijan (San Francisco) to Poro, fresh water from underground lakes and waterfalls. How to get to Camotes Island
Camotes can be reached by:
1.Cebu City – Danao – to Camotes Island.
a. Travel to Danao Port by:Taking a Ceres Bus in the North Bus Terminal in Mandaue City. Take the Bus that is heading to Danao Port. The bus fare is around P30 and the its travel time at least 2 hours from Cebu.
b. Take a V Hire bound for Danao in the SM City Mall in the North Reclamation Area. Vhire fare is P50.00, and the Travel time is one hour and thirty Minutes.
After arriving in Danao, you may take the Super Shuttle Ferry in case you wish to go to Poro Port.
If your destination is Consuelo Port then you should take the Ferry under the Jomalia Shipping Corporation Estimated fare for Danao to Camotes is Php 200.00. Travel time is 2 hours.
2. Pier 1 to Camotes Island.
Another way of going to Camotes Island is By Fast Craft (Ocean Jet) at Pier 1 Cebu City Port. Good For Cebu staying people
3. Mactan Marinal Mall to Camotes Island
The fastest way to get to Camotes island is via Jomalia Fast Craft from Mactan which only takes 1 hour and 10 minutes. This will cost you approximately P500. Good For Mactan staying people.

Things to do while in Camotes Island
1. Massage on the beach: Get a massage while resting in the beach. There is so many massage ladies scattered in the beach.
