CEBU SAFARI & ADVENTURE PARK EXPERIENCE
The newest attraction in Cebu, Phillipines is the Cebu Safari & Adventure Park which is located at Barangay Corte, Toril in the municipality of Carmen north Cebu. This newest attraction just recently opened last 2018. It was named as a safari since according to the tour guides, they intend to replicate the natural habitat of the animals instead caging them. Cebu Safai & Adventure Park covers a total of 170 hectares and thousand of animals with different species.
Just visit their site to book your ticket. Booking should be done at least one day ahead of your visit as the site says and ticket is an open date (presumed to be 30 days after the booking). The Park is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm from Wednesday to Sunday (the days scheduled according to the van driver) but they are open on holidays.(This may change prior to notice) But to be sure just contact ,email or follow their fb page.
So if you really want to tour the area of 170 hectares, might as well come before the park open to really enjoy the place. Going there, first you have to take the bus from the north bus terminal. Travel time is approximately one and half hour to two hours depends on the traffic. Fare for the aircon type bus is P75.00 for non aircon approximately P45.00 and if you don’t know where exactly the place might as well ask the conductor to drop you off to where you can get a van going to the safari. In our case we were dropped off by the bus to the Carmen Park, where there is already a van waiting for passengers going to Safari. Fare for the Van is P100.00 per head.
Arriving there I wasn’t expecting too much of their set up but its really exceed my expectation. The first thing that will welcome you there is the breathtaking scenery of the mountains. Since the location is somewhat on top of the mountains, first thing is that your bags will be checked, not only from dangerous things, but also for foods and water bottles(but water tumblers is ok). Foods can be deposited in the information area. You bring your tickets or booking confirmation on the ticket booth, in exchange you will be given a wrist band and a map of the place. Wristband should be worn at all times inside the facilities.
You don’t have your own guide here. You were on your own, with a map , but you can ask the personnel information on how to get to other areas. The safari is also well equipped with restaurants and refreshment areas. They offer lunch buffet at a 300.00 per head. They also offer bird show with a schedule. The tiger feeding and the African Savanna have also scheduled to be followed. If you’re still not contented with the African lions you can watch the white lions with a fee of P200.00 per head. The place also offers Zip Line (1.3km) for P400.00, Sky bike and ATV ( All Terrain Vehicle) with, different trail course. See prices below. This also comes with a scheduled time. They also have a souvenir shop at their welcome pavilion with their unique stuff.
The Cebu Safari and Adventure Park really for everyone. But I mostly saw that the children are the ones who enjoy this kind of place. This is also an emersion for them since these animals cannot be found in our places and for them to learn to look after those creatures. Just a tip, when you already received your map you have to plan your trip to the area so you can really enjoy what you pay for and won’t miss a thing.
